How aurora alerts work

We check every hour, using the same method as the tonight tool. We compare the Kp forecast during your dark hours with the Kp your location needs. We skip the email when the cloud forecast is 70% or more overcast. You get at most one email per night, sent from about 6 hours before dark onward. Alerts are free and there is no account. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

What we store
